Most recently Altun Ha is known for the  jade Head “Kinich Ahau” that was discovered Canadian Dr. David Prendergast of the Royal Ontario Museum.

Once a major trading center linking the Maya on the Caribbean with the Central American mainland Maya, you will explore the ancient temple complex and have a well informed certified guide. The grounds have a variety of medicinal plants and are worth exploring
